Breitling Prices

How Much Does a Breitling Cost?

Breitling watches are stable in value and are worth purchasing for enthusiasts, collectors and beginners alike. However, certain models of the luxury watch brand can increase in value over the years. Depending on the model, prices vary from around €2,000 to €8,000, with classic wristwatches starting at around €2,500. The pricing is more than fair for a durable, sturdy Breitling watch.

How Much is the Most Expensive Breitling Watch?

Prices are higher for limited or special models, such as those in cooperation with Bentley. Here, the prices can be around €200,000. What is special about this watch is that it is “iced out”, meaning it is completely covered with diamonds – including the dial and bracelet. In fact, the manufacturer from Grenchen only produced 50 pieces of this luxury model.

Currently, the most expensive Breitling from spring 2023 is the Premier B21 Chronograph Tourbillon 42 Willy Breitling, which has a list price of €66,000.

Prices for the cult Navitimer and Chronomat chronographs range from €7,000 to €35,000, depending on whether they are made of stainless steel or gold.

It is foreseeable that the demand for Breitling models will increase in the future. At Montredo, you can buy the most popular Breitling models at the best possible price – of course with a full manufacturer’s warranty, free shipping and a 60-day return policy.

Who Wears Breitling?

As a Hollywood actor, amateur pilot and Breitling brand ambassador, the “Pulp Fiction” star is never seen without one of his signature Breitling watches on his wrist.

Why Breitling?

Why should you buy a Breitling watch?

Every Jeweller understands Breitling watches are known for their precision and exclusivity. They are popular as luxury watches and the value of such a Breitling wristwatch has remained fairly consistent in the past, which also makes them a good value-investment. In addition, Breitling watches have certified movements and possess the highest seal of quality of Swiss watch manufacturers. Breitling wristwatches are therefore a solid investment and their longevity makes them suitable as heirlooms for future generations.

How do you wind a Breitling watch correctly?

First, unscrew the screw-in, waterproof crown counter clockwise. Then turn the crown of the watch approximately 40 times clockwise and pull it to the 2nd position. Once on the 2nd position, move it counter clockwise until the date of the current day appears.

History

Watches for Adventurers

Breitling watches have a firm place in the history of watchmaking. From the very beginning in 1884, the family business focused on innovation and design. Léon Breitling, who was strongly interested in speed and progress, began work to create the fastest stopwatch in the world. He worked with such ambition that he soon created one of the most important inventions of modern chronographs. In 1915, Breitling introduced the first independent chronograph pusher – and shortly after, the second pusher for zero setting. Therefore, the look of today’s chronograph and the resulting ease of use with two pushers and a crown can be traced back to the House of Breitling and they helped determine what we now take for granted in daily use.

It is of no surprise that Breitling quickly made a name for itself not only on land, but also in aviation. Whether Royal or US Air Force, Breitling chronographs have been in the cockpits of some of the most important aircrafts since 1936.

True Story

A historical anecdote occurred during the 2nd World War. Willy Breitling supplied chronographs to England that were “spy-film-ready”. He and his friends drove to a meeting point in an open field and switched on the spotlights on an agreed signal. This allowed an airplane to land and load. In order not to attract attention and to be discreet, he then went to a bar in Neuchâtel and drew attention to himself.

With the introduction of the Chronomat and the Navitimer (one of the most legendary watches ever) in 1947, Breitling was known for its distinctive pilot’s watches that took accurate measurements whilst also looking sporty and elegant on the wrist.

In terms of flights of fancy, this was far from the only field that Breitling was able to stake a claim in. Watches were eventually also developed for outer space: It was the special Cosmonaute Scott Carpenter model that accompanied the legendary Mercury space mission in 1962.

Functions That Save Lives

Many years later in 1999, Breitling aviation history was made once again, this time with a hot air balloon that circled the globe: the Breitling Orbiter 3 Balloon from Château-d’Oex in the Swiss Alps carrying Emergency Breitling watches onboard.

Then after the air came the sea. Never tired of new innovations and rethinking everything previously known, Breitling also made a name for itself with diving watches like the SuperOcean or the SuperOcean Heritage. Intended equally for professionals and amateurs, the Swiss manufacturer soon developed technical masterpieces for adventurous deep dives.

In 2013, Breitling redesigned the Emergency model so that it can be used for search and rescue missions worldwide. Breitling also makes watches with smartphone connectivity, without compromising on its trademark style. Today, the three components of air, land and water are the centre of the Breitling universe. High-performance sports watches such as the Super Chronomat or new releases like the ladies’ watches in the Superocean Heritage ’57 Pastel Paradise Capsule Collection, demonstrate Breitling’s reorientation as a generalist Swiss watch brand on the one hand, and pride in its heritage rich in tradition on the other. With topics such as the digitalization of the company and sustainability in processes are still of enormous importance to Breitling today. Keeping up with the times and always keeping an eye on the times – with a Breitling wristwatch, you’re treating yourself to a piece of modern history!

One Watch for All

Breitling was keen early on to produce watches for members of the public as well as professionals. So not only for the military or for professional divers could enjoy their watches, but also for recreational pilots, for example. With the Premier collection, Breitling created stylish, glamorous watches for private use, and even the term “Premier” makes it clear that these are watches for this purpose.

Breitling in Numbers

2 as in 2 Totalizers

Breitling was instrumental in the development of the modern chronograph in several respects. Breitling was one of the very first manufacturers to place two totalizers on the dial to show stopped times. In 1915, Breitling also launched the first chronograph with a push-piece at 2 o’clock that could be operated separately from the winding crown. A few years later, by separating the start-stop button and the zero setting into two separate controls, the versatility of the chronograph was increased by the possibility of measuring intermediate times and improved operability. Together with other manufacturers, including TAG Heuer (then Heuer-Leonidas), Breitling developed one of the first automatic chronographs in the world and one of the most famous chronograph movements, under the name Chronomatic (also known as Calibre 11).

5 as in 5 Years Warranty

All Breitling models that house an in-house caliber come with a full 5-year warranty. This additional security at the time of purchase applies to all Chronomat models, the Navitimer 01 and some Transocean variants, for example, and underscores the high reliability of the in-house developments originating from La Chaux de Fonds and Grenchen.

100 as in 100 Percent of all Breitlings

All Breitling watches are checked for accuracy by the COSC chronometer testing laboratory, both for in-house production and for modified ETA movements (for the latter, only the highest production level Chronomètre is used). For the watch wearer, this means that all mechanical watches may only have a rate deviation of between -4 and +6 seconds per day. Breitling is also currently the only manufacturer to have quartz movements certified by the inspection body. The maximum average deviation for quartz watches may not exceed 25 seconds per year. Unlike Rolex or Omega, for example, all Breitling watches sold come with a chronometer certificate.

1 as in 1 Winged Initial Letter that Connects Two Brands

It is probably not only the almost identical brand emblem, a winged “B”, that brings the two brands Breitling and Bentley together. The two brands are also united by their high standards of quality and workmanship, and they have also playfully agreed on a common denominator in terms of style:. The Breitling for Bentley collection combines the opulent charm of the luxury watchmaker with typical Breitling attributes. The result is a slightly more elegant and less sporty facet in Breitling’s creation, which includes steel models as well as some gold ones. The signature design feature of the model series is the lattice-like bezel ornament, reminiscent of the radiator grille of a Bentley.

20 as in 20 Human Life

As a manufacturer of functional watches, Breitling is not afraid of new technologies. The Breitling Connected, for example, is connected to the smartphone and thus offers a range of practical features combined with maximum precision for everyday use. With the Breitling Emergency, the company is also a pioneer in radio technology and a lifesaver at the same time: with the antenna screwed on and extended, the Emergency model can send emergency signals in two frequency ranges via a transmitter. To date, this special Aviator creation from Breitling has saved around 20 lives.

Breitling Over Time

1884: Breitling is founded by Léon Breitling.

1915: Breitling presents its first chronograph. For the first time, a pusher placed at 2 o’clock is used, which can be operated independently of the crown.

1923: Breitling invents a chronograph in which zeroing takes place separately from the start-stop function. This makes it possible to measure several partial times, which are added to a stop time.

1934: The first chronograph with two pushers is presented.

1942: The Breitling Chronomat is introduced.

1952/1954: The Navitimer becomes part of the Breitling collection.

1969: Breitling, together with Heuer-Leonidas, Buren and Dubois Dépraz, launches one of the first self-winding chronograph movements.

1985: 100 years after the company was founded, the Chronomat is relaunched.

1995: The Breitling Emergency is launched and serves as a lifesaver in emergencies.

1999: From now on, all Breitling watches are certified by the COSC and can now officially be called chronometers.

2003: The Breitling for Bentley collection is launched.

2009: Breitling introduces the caliber Breitling 01, the first chronograph movement developed in-house. Due to the dials usually loaded with scales, a date display was deliberately omitted. The Breitling 01 and other manufacture movements, which were to follow in the coming years, come with a 5-year warranty.

2015: Breitling introduces the first in-house movement without chronograph function.

2015: Breitling presents the Transocean 1915, a monopusher chronograph celebrating the 100th anniversary of the first Breitling chronograph.

2020: CEO Georges Kern once again underlines the brand’s innovative self-image and – also in view of the COVID 19 pandemic – presents the new watches through a completely digitally held Web Summit 2020.

2021: Breitling’s new release for women, the Superocean Heritage ’57 Pastel Paradise Capsule Collection captivates with colour, proportion and substance.

2022: The Superocean models receive a facelift, taking inspiration from the 1960s Superocean Slow Motion, whose design language has been updated for modern times.

2022: Professional football player Erling Haaland becomes the new brand ambassador for Breitling. Other Breitling brand ambassadors include actors such as Brad Pitt, Charlize Theron and Adam Driver, as well as athletes Kelly Slater and Misty Copeland.

2023: The Swiss luxury watchmaker partners with the Surfrider Foundation to protect oceans, waves and beaches around the world.
